This painting is inspired by an ancient  piece of Colombian gold jewelry.  The grid design, with its powerful anthropomorphic references, are the elements that I wanted to explore in this painting .  The nature of the molten wax medium that I use in this piece lends a certain fluidity and vibrancy that is also inherent in the art of the goldsmith.
